Greenhouse and Field Agricultural Worker
Agriculture — Lushnjë, Albania
P-252 · Basic (A2) · 4 openings
An agriculture company near Lushnjë needs steady hands for its greenhouses and open fields. Most of the work is tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers under plastic, plus seasonal field crops.
About role
You start early, usually around 6 in the morning before the greenhouse heats up. The day is planting seedlings, tying and pruning the vines, removing side shoots and picking ripe fruit into crates. You water and check the drip lines, weed between the rows and load full crates onto the trailer. In the open fields you help with sowing, hoeing and harvest depending on the season. Shifts run roughly eight hours, six days a week, with longer days during peak picking.
Who's a fit?
Comfortable with physical work outdoors in heat and cold
Careful hands for picking and pruning without bruising fruit
Able to stand, bend and lift crates for most of the shift
Reliable and on time, ready to start at dawn
No prior farm experience needed, the team will train you
Benefits
Shared accommodation provided close to the site
Daily transport from the housing to the greenhouses
One hot meal during the shift
Work clothes, gloves and boots supplied
Help with paperwork and registration on arrival
Promotion terms
You begin at the starting pay and move up once you handle the picking and pruning on your own without being checked. Workers who learn to run the drip irrigation and guide a small crew reach the top of the range. The step up usually comes within the first season.
Work environment
The site is a block of plastic greenhouses with open fields beside them, flat land typical of the Myzeqe plain. Inside the tunnels it gets hot and humid by midday, so most picking is done in the cooler morning hours. The ground is uneven and muddy after watering, so good footing matters.
