Bricklayer

You lay facing brick and lightweight block to the line, mix or take delivery of mortar to the specified class, and keep joints and courses to the drawing. On refurbishment you cut out damaged brick, repoint and match the existing joint profile. You set out from the given level, check with a spirit level and a gauge rod, and work from a scaffold that you inspect before use. Working hours are 06:45 to 16:00 and you report to the site foreman.

Bricklaying trade certificate or at least five years of masonry work

Experience of facing brick, block walls and repointing

Able to set out courses and hold a joint profile over a full facade

Confident working from scaffold with fall protection

Knowledge of mortar classes and winter working rules

Basic English for toolbox talks, Swedish taught on site

ID06 card and safety induction, both arranged by the employer

Net salary from 2624 up to 2886 EUR per month

Permanent contract under the Byggavtalet collective agreement

Bricklayers with a full trade certificate take the lagbas role on a facade and price their own piecework against the Byggavtalet time list, which is how the trade sets its rate.

Scaffolded facades in open weather, with a mortar station and a hoist at ground level. Helmet, safety boots, gloves, eye protection and a harness on open edges are mandatory and supplied.
