Sewing Machine Operator

You will sit at an industrial sewing machine and join cut fabric pieces into finished garments, mostly t-shirts, workwear and light jackets. The line runs in stages, so you take a bundle from the operator before you, stitch your part (a sleeve, a collar, a side seam) and pass it on. You change thread and bobbins yourself, watch the tension and trim loose ends as you go. A line supervisor sets the daily target and checks the first few pieces of each new batch. Shifts are usually 8 hours, Monday to Friday, with a rotating early and late shift; some Saturdays in the busy autumn season. You stand a little, sit a lot, and your speed picks up after the first couple of weeks.

You start at 480 EUR net while you learn the line and hit speed. Once you hold the daily target on your own and your quality stays clean, pay moves up to 560 EUR net. Strong operators often move on to harder pieces or to checking the line, and that comes with the higher rate.

The floor is one large hall with rows of machines, good lighting and fans for the warm months. It gets noisy when the whole line is running, so ear protection is on hand. The work is indoor and dry, and the pace is set by the line, not by you alone.
