MIG/MAG Welder
Metal Industry — Skopje, North Macedonia
P-301 · Functional (B1) · 4 openings
A metal industry company near Skopje needs a welder who can read a drawing and lay a clean bead without a foreman standing over them. Steady work, real overtime when the orders pile up, and pay that sits above what most shops here offer.
About role
You will weld steel structures and sheet assemblies using MIG/MAG, mostly carbon steel from 2 mm up to thicker plate. The day starts with reading the production drawing, tacking the parts in the jig, then running the full weld and checking it against the spec. You work off your own machine, a wire feed unit and a torch you keep clean, and you grind and prep your joints before you strike an arc. Shifts run two patterns, an early 07:00 to 15:00 and a late 15:00 to 23:00, rotating week to week, with Saturday work paid extra when the line is loaded. Output gets checked, so a porous or undercut weld comes back to you. Most of the work is repeat batches, so once you dial in the settings you keep your rhythm.
Who's a fit?
Solid MIG/MAG experience on carbon steel, at least two years on the floor
Can read shop drawings and weld symbols on your own
Clean, consistent beads in flat and horizontal positions, vertical-up a plus
Know how to set wire speed, voltage and gas flow for the joint in front of you
Comfortable grinding, prepping and checking your own work
Functional English (B1) for safety briefings and basic shift handover
Benefits
Accommodation arranged close to the plant for workers coming from out of town
Daily transport from the housing to the gate
Hot meal on every shift in the canteen
Health insurance from the first month
Paid overtime and a Saturday rate above the weekday wage
Promotion terms
You start at 810 EUR net and move toward 940 EUR net once you hold quality on your own and need no rework on the weld checks. The step usually comes within the first six to nine months, judged on your beads and your scrap rate, not on years served. Welders who pick up jig setup and help train the newer hands are first in line for it.
Work environment
The shop is an enclosed production hall with fume extraction at the welding bays and bright task lighting over each station. It gets warm near the booths in summer and the noise is real, so ear protection and a proper auto-darkening helmet are worn at all times. Floors are kept clear and parts move on trolleys, not by hand across the hall.
