MIG/MAG Welder
Metal Industry — Stuttgart, Germany
P-292 · Functional (B1) · 3 openings
A metal industry company near Stuttgart needs a steady hand on the MIG/MAG torch. Day shift, clean indoor hall, and your weld seams actually get checked, so good work shows.
About role
You weld steel and stainless steel components for machine frames and structural assemblies, mostly in the 3 to 12 mm range. Most of the day is at a fixed bench station, working from drawings and weld symbols, with some fitting and tacking before the full pass. You run MIG/MAG (135/138) on pulse and standard sets, switch wire and gas as the job changes, and grind back tacks and spatter when needed. Shifts are early, roughly 06:00 to 14:30 Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday when an order runs tight. A welding inspector checks seams, and parts that matter go through visual and sometimes X-ray testing, so consistency counts more than speed.
Who's a fit?
At least 2 to 3 years on MIG/MAG (135/138) with steel and stainless
Reads technical drawings and weld symbols without help
Valid welding certificate per ISO 9606-1 is a plus, otherwise you test on site
Comfortable in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions (PA, PB, PF)
Basic English (B1) to follow shift instructions and safety briefings
Benefits
Relocation handled, including help with the visa and German work paperwork
Shared flat near the plant for the first months, rent kept low
Works bus or a shuttle covers the ride to the hall
Public health insurance from day one
Work clothing, PPE and welding gear provided
Promotion terms
You start at 2380 euro net per month. Once your seams pass inspection cleanly and you take on the harder positions on your own, pay moves up to 2740 euro net. From there the next step is lead welder, with responsibility for checking the team's tacks before the full pass.
Work environment
The work happens in a heated indoor hall with fume extraction at each station, so you are out of the weather and the air stays clear. It can get loud near the grinding bays and you stand most of the shift. The hall is tidy, parts are staged in order, and the safety briefing is short but taken seriously.
