Seasonal Agricultural Worker
Agriculture — Timișoara, Romania
P-257 · Basic (A2) · 5 openings
Outdoor work on the vegetable and grain farms in the Timiș plain, starting with the spring planting and running through the autumn harvest. If you do not mind early starts and a full day on your feet, the pay is steady and the hours are real.
About role
You start around 6 in the morning while it is still cool and work in a crew of eight to twelve people. The day moves with the season: planting seedlings and laying drip lines in spring, hoeing and thinning rows through summer, then picking tomatoes, peppers, cabbage and onions by hand once the crops come in. During grain harvest some of the team loads trailers and clears the field behind the combine. You will use hand tools like hoes, pruning shears and crates, and you will help with irrigation pipes and the sorting tables in the packing shed. Most picking is done bent over or kneeling along the rows, so the work is physical and repetitive, but the pace is set by the foreman, not by a clock you fight against.

Promotion terms
You start at the entry rate of 590 euro net per month. After a full season where you keep good attendance and learn the rows, the employer brings reliable workers back as crew leaders or machine operators at 680 euro net. The people who come back two seasons running are usually the first ones called for the steadier year-round spots.
Work environment
The farm sits in open country a short drive outside Timișoara, mostly flat fields with greenhouses and a packing shed on site. Summers get hot and dusty and there is little shade in the rows, so water and breaks are built into the day. Work stops when the weather turns dangerous, and there is a covered area to wait out the rain.
