Warehouse Operative

You work inside a covered logistics warehouse handling parcels and palletised goods for a trade and transport company. A normal day means picking orders against a handheld scanner, loading and unloading vans and trucks at the dock, and wrapping pallets for dispatch. You move boxes by hand and use a pallet jack for the heavier loads, with forklift training offered later for those who want it. Shifts run in two patterns, 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm, rotating week by week, with some Saturday cover paid extra. Goods come in fast in the morning and ship out by late afternoon, so the floor stays busy between those windows.

Health insurance from your first month

You start at 750 EUR net per month. Once you know the floor and handle the pace on your own, pay moves up to 870 EUR net, usually within the first few months. Operatives who pass forklift training move into the better paid roles first.

The warehouse is fully enclosed and lit, with concrete floors and clear walkways between the racking. It gets cold near the dock doors in winter, so warm work clothes help, and the company hands out gloves and safety boots. Supervisors are on the floor through every shift and the site keeps to strict lifting and traffic rules.
