Furniture Carpenter (Woodworker)

Most days start with reading the cut list and pulling the right boards and panels. You work the panel saw and the edgebander, then move to the spindle moulder and the boring machine for joints and hinge holes. A good part of the day is assembly: dowels, biscuits, clamps, and squaring up carcases before they go to sanding. You sand by hand and with the orbital sander, fit drawers and doors so the gaps stay even, and check every piece against the drawing. Shifts run Monday to Friday, roughly 7 to 16 with a lunch break, and the odd Saturday morning when an order is tight. The work is indoors, on your feet, with regular lifting of panels and finished units.

At least 2 years building furniture in a workshop

Can read a cut list and a simple shop drawing

Clean hand work: dowels, biscuits, clamping and squaring

Careful with measurements and finish quality

Basic English is enough, Italian is a plus

Pay starts at 1770 net per month. Once you have shown you can run the machines on your own and keep the finish clean, the rate moves up toward 2050 net. The review comes after the first months, based on the work you turn out, not on how long you have been there.

The workshop is a mid sized production floor with separate areas for cutting, machining, assembly and finishing. There is good dust extraction at the machines and the place is kept tidy. You work alongside a small crew, with a foreman who sets the order list each week.
