CNC Machine Operator
Production & Manufacturing — Kranj, Slovenia
P-235 · Functional (B1) · 3 openings
A metalworking plant near Kranj needs operators who can run a CNC lathe or mill on their own. If you know G-code and can read a technical drawing, this one pays above the local average.
About role
You set up and run CNC lathes and milling machines that cut steel and aluminium parts for the automotive and machine-building sector. At the start of each shift you load the program, clamp the raw stock, set the zero point and check the first piece against the drawing with a caliper and micrometer. During the run you swap worn inserts, refill coolant and keep an eye on the readings so the tolerances hold. Most parts go through in batches, so you measure every few pieces and log the results. When a tool breaks or a dimension drifts you stop the machine, find the cause and correct the offset yourself. Work runs in two shifts, morning and afternoon, with a night shift added when orders are heavy.
Who's a fit?
Independent setup and operation of CNC lathes or mills (Fanuc, Heidenhain or Siemens control)
Reading technical drawings and ISO tolerances
Measuring with caliper, micrometer and gauges
Basic G-code editing and tool offset correction
At least two years on metal-cutting machines
B1 English to follow programs and shift handovers
Benefits
Furnished shared accommodation arranged near the plant
Shuttle from the housing to the gate or a transport allowance
Hot meal subsidy on every shift
Help with paperwork, residence registration and the move

Promotion terms
You start at 1670 EUR net per month. Once you run the machines without supervision and hold the quality on harder parts, pay moves up toward 1940 EUR net, usually within the first year. Operators who take on setup for the whole cell or train newcomers are first in line for the top of the range.
Work environment
The hall is a clean machining shop with rows of enclosed CNC centres, good lighting and extraction. It runs warm in summer and cool in winter, and the floor stays oily around the machines, so safety shoes and glasses are required. Kranj sits twenty minutes from Ljubljana with the Alps in plain view, and the housing is a short ride from the plant.
