Industrial Painter

You prepare and coat welded steel parts: masking threads and machined faces, checking the blasted surface, then spraying primer and top coat with an airless gun or a HVLP cup gun inside a downdraught booth. You mix paint to the ratio on the data sheet, keep the viscosity within the cup time, and measure dry film thickness with a magnetic gauge on every batch. Faults such as runs, orange peel or dry spray are sanded back and recoated the same day. Batch, colour code and thickness go on the paint sheet. The shop runs 06:00 to 14:30 Monday to Friday under the coating foreman.

Trade school as a painter, varnisher or similar practical training

At least one year of spray painting in a workshop

Painters who take the surface protection course move on to coating inspector, and the workshop pays the course fee at the welding institute in Ljubljana.

Work is inside a ventilated spray booth with a water curtain and a separate drying room, so the hall stays free of overspray. A fresh air mask, chemical gloves and an antistatic overall are mandatory and supplied.
