Delivery Driver

You load the van against the delivery list at 06:00, check the seals and the cold chain record on the chilled boxes, and drive a fixed round of twelve to twenty stops. At each stop you hand over the goods, take the signature on the terminal, collect returns and empties, and note any refusal with its reason. Cash on delivery is counted and handed in at the depot the same evening. The round runs from Monday to Friday, normally 06:00-15:00, and the vehicle is cleaned and fuelled before you sign off.

Category B licence held for at least three years

Two years of delivery or courier driving

Clean record and a readiness for a driver aptitude check

Comfortable with a handheld terminal and electronic signatures

Able to lift crates of up to 25 kg on and off the tail lift

Polite and clear with shop staff at handover

English at conversational level for the handover and the paperwork

Net salary from 1043 up to 1147 EUR per month

Drivers who pass the C category course move to the seven and a half tonne rigid work, which carries a higher daily rate. The firm pays the course fee against a two year commitment.

Loading happens under a covered ramp at the depot, and the rest of the day is spent in the cab and at shop back doors. A high visibility jacket, safety shoes and cut resistant gloves for the roll cages are supplied.
