An electrical contractor working in the Skanssi district of Turku is hiring electricians for new apartment buildings and for renovation work. The jobs run from the first fix of the conduit to the final measurements and the handover. The contract is permanent and a van is provided for the working day.
About role
You install conduit and boxes into the frame before the concrete pour, pull cable once the walls are closed and terminate sockets, switches and luminaires to the drawing. In the distribution board you fit the rails, land the circuits and label every way. Before the handover you carry out the insulation resistance and loop impedance measurements, record them in the test report and correct anything the report shows. You take the day's tasks from the site foreman and coordinate your own work with the plumbing and ventilation trades. The working day is 07:00 to 15:30 from Monday to Friday.
Who's a fit?
Vocational qualification in electrical installation
At least two years of site work in new build or renovation
Reading an electrical layout, a board drawing and a circuit list
Insulation resistance and loop impedance measurement and the test report
Valid electrical safety training, occupational safety card and hot work card
Driving licence B, the van is used to reach the sites
Finnish or English good enough to coordinate with the other trades

Promotion terms
An electrician who takes on the measurements and the handover documents moves to the site lead post, and the company trains its own estimators from the installation crew. The high voltage course is paid.
Work environment
Building sites at different stages, from an unheated frame in winter to a finished flat before the handover, with heated site huts and a drying room. Helmet, high visibility clothing, goggles and safety boots are mandatory and provided.
