Construction Labourer

You move material to the working floors with the hoist and the pallet truck, strip and clean formwork panels, tie reinforcement under the direction of the steel fixer, and keep the stairwells and passages clear. In the finishing stage you carry plasterboard and insulation, help the carpenters set door frames and sweep and sort the waste into the site skips at the end of every day. You take the daily briefing from the foreman at 07:00 and report anything unsafe, in particular an unguarded edge or a damaged ladder, before you start. The working day is 07:00 to 15:30 from Monday to Friday.

Completed basic school, no trade certificate required

Physical fitness for carrying and lifting through a full day outdoors

Occupational safety card, or willingness to take it in the first week

Understanding of fall protection, edge guards and a safety harness

A tax number and a photo identification card, arranged by the employer

Net salary from 1856 up to 2041 EUR per month

Fixed term contract for the site with full insurance from the first day

Separate pay portion of 7,7 percent paid with every wage payment

Holiday bonus of 18,5 percent under the building construction agreement

Daily travel cost compensation by distance to the site

Paid occupational safety card and hot work card for those who need one

Winter work clothing, helmet, gloves, goggles and safety boots

Labourers who show they can work to a drawing move into the formwork and reinforcement teams, which sit in a higher pay group of the building construction agreement. Apprenticeship training is arranged for those who want a trade.

An open building site with heated site huts, a drying room and a canteen hut, and working outdoors in all weather including below zero. Helmet, high visibility clothing, goggles, gloves and safety boots are mandatory and provided.
