Construction Carpenter
Construction · Tartu, Estonia
JB-968 · Basic (A2) · 10 openings
A house factory in the Ropka industrial zone of Tartu is hiring carpenters to build floor, wall and ceiling elements indoors. The elements are shipped to sites in Estonia and Norway, and the work is under a roof all year.
About role
You build the frame on the jig table from the cutting list, nail the sheathing, fit the insulation and the vapour barrier and leave the openings for windows and doors exactly where the drawing puts them. You check the diagonals before the sheet goes on, because an element that is out of square will not go together on site. Service channels for the electrician are cut at this stage. Finished elements are marked, wrapped and loaded with the crane. Two shifts run 06:00 to 14:30 and 14:30 to 23:00.
Who's a fit?
Vocational training as a carpenter or at least two years on site
Reading an element drawing and a cutting list
Confident use of a circular saw, a nail gun and a screw gun
Measuring and checking diagonals before sheathing
Willingness to rotate two shifts every week
Able to lift and carry timber with a colleague
Basic English for material marks and safety signs
Benefits
Net salary from 1350 up to 1540 EUR per month
Indoor work all year, so the weather never stops the shift
Permanent contract and health insurance from the first day

Promotion terms
Carpenters who learn the whole element sequence take on the jig setting and the first piece check for a new house type. The factory also sends crews to install elements on site, which pays a travel allowance.
Work environment
A heated hall with sawdust drawn off at each saw and cranes over the assembly tables. Ear protection, safety shoes, gloves and glasses are worn, and a dust mask is issued for the insulation work.
