Painter and Finisher

You prepare the surface first: fill the joints, tape and sand, prime where the board drinks, and only then paint. Walls and ceilings are rolled in two coats with a brush cut in at the edges, and the last coat is checked under a side light before the room is signed off. You mix the shade from the tinting code on the order, keep the tools clean and protect the floor and the fittings before you start. The day is 08:00 to 16:30 from Monday to Friday and the foreman sets the order of rooms each morning.

Vocational training as a painter or at least two years of site work

A finisher who delivers rooms without snags takes on the handover check for a whole flat and then a small crew. The company pays for the decorative plaster and spray courses.

Heated indoor sites with dust from sanding, drawn off by an extractor attached to the sander. A dust mask, glasses, gloves and safety shoes are provided and knee pads are issued for floor level work.
