Forklift Driver

You drive a counterbalance truck and a reach truck, take steel sheet, profiles and finished assemblies off the trailers, weigh them where the order needs it and place them on the racks by batch number. During the shift you feed the cutting and welding stations, take the finished frames to the paint line and keep the transport routes clear. You check the truck before every shift, log the battery charge or the gas bottle change and report any damage at once. The shift runs 07:30 to 16:00 and you report to the store keeper.

Valid forklift operator certificate or readiness to take it on site

At least one year behind a counterbalance or reach truck

Reading a batch label and a delivery note without help

Care with loads that are long, heavy or unevenly balanced

Drivers who learn the racking plan and the batch system take on shift store keeping, which carries responsibility for stock counts and for goods receiving. The plant pays for the crane operator course for those who go that way.

A heated hall and a covered yard, with steel dust and welding smoke drawn off by local extraction. Safety shoes, a high visibility vest, gloves and ear protection near the cutting line are worn at all times.
