An electrical installation firm working on office refurbishments in the Chamartin district of Madrid is taking on site electricians. The work is low voltage distribution, lighting and data cabling in occupied buildings. Permanent contract and a fixed day schedule.
About role
You run tray and conduit to the drawing, pull cable, terminate at the board and label every circuit. You mount and wire distribution panels, fit luminaires and sockets, and test continuity, insulation and earth loop with the meter before energising. Findings go on the test sheet that the technical office files. Work in occupied floors is planned so that power cuts fall outside office hours. Hours are 08:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday, under the installation supervisor.
Who's a fit?
Vocational training in electricity, or four years of site practice
Reads a single line diagram and a lighting layout
Terminates and labels a distribution board without supervision
Uses an insulation tester and an earth loop meter and records the readings
Twenty hour construction safety card, or willingness to take it in the first week
English at B1 for equipment manuals and client handovers
Residence permit valid for work in Spain

Net salary from 1550 up to 1705 EUR per month
Pay in fourteen instalments under the Madrid metal and installation agreement

Promotion terms
Electricians who take the low voltage authorised worker qualification lead a two person team and sign the test sheets, a graded post in the installation agreement.
Work environment
Refurbishment floors in occupied office buildings: indoor work, a mobile tower for ceiling runs and shared access with other trades. Helmet, glasses, insulating gloves and safety boots are worn on every floor.
