Construction Labourer

You open and close trenches with pick, shovel and a hand compactor, place bedding sand, help lay kerbs and pipes to the line the surveyor marks, and backfill in layers. You feed the mixer, move materials with a wheelbarrow or a dumper and keep the signing and the barriers in place around the work. The team also breaks concrete with a hand breaker and clears the surface before asphalt. Hours are 07:00-15:00 from Monday to Friday, under the works foreman.

No previous experience required, the work is taught by the team

Physically able to dig and to carry for a full shift outdoors

Twenty hour construction safety card, or willingness to take it in the first week

Labourers who show a steady hand with the level and the line move to kerb laying and then to bricklayer grade, and the firm pays for the dumper and mini excavator course.

Open street works with traffic running past a signed and fenced area. Summers in Valencia pass thirty five degrees, so the team works the summer schedule and the firm supplies water, sun protection and light clothing.
