Truck Driver

You drive a tractor unit with a curtainsider or a box trailer, load or supervise loading at the platform, secure the load with straps and check the axle weights before leaving. On the route you keep the tachograph in order, respect driving and rest times and record fuel and tolls in the on board terminal. At delivery you hand over the papers, collect the signed note and report any damage by photograph. Two nights away from home per week on average, with the return on Friday afternoon.

Category CE licence with the CAP card and a valid tachograph card

At least two years on articulated national routes

Load securing with straps, corner pieces and anti slip mats

Daily checks on tyres, lights and brake condition

Willing to sleep out two nights a week

English at B1 for delivery paperwork and terminal menus

Residence permit valid for work in Spain

Net salary from 1660 up to 1826 EUR per month

Pay in fourteen instalments, the two extra payments already inside the monthly figure quoted

Daily allowance for nights away paid on top of the figure above

Permanent contract with social security registration from day one

Fleet under five years old with automatic gearbox and cab heater

CAP renewal every five years paid by the employer

Work clothing, gloves, vest and safety boots provided

Drivers with a clean tachograph record for a year are offered the ADR basic course and move to the tanker and packed dangerous goods rota, which pays a supplement per service.

A yard with a workshop, a fuel island and a driver room with showers and laundry. Loading is done at covered docks. Gloves, boots and a vest are required inside every customer platform.
