A concrete frame contractor building apartment blocks and hotel extensions around Gazi and Ammoudara, west of Heraklion, is taking on formwork carpenters. Panel systems and traditional timber shuttering are both used.
About role
You read the formwork drawing, set out the column and wall positions on the slab, and build the shutter from panels or from timber and plywood. Props, walers and ties are set to the plan and checked for line and plumb before the pour. During the pour you watch for movement and tighten where needed.
