Painter and Decorator

You mask and cover the room, scrape and sand the old coat, fill cracks with a flexible filler and prime the repaired areas. Ceilings go on first with the roller, then walls in two coats, then woodwork and metal by brush. On facades you work from a mast platform or a fixed scaffold, wash down, treat any rust on the railings and apply two coats of masonry paint. Tools are washed and put away each evening. The day runs 08:00-16:00.

At least three years of interior and exterior painting

Able to prepare a surface properly, scrape, fill, sand and prime

Tidy with masking, covers and the customer's furniture

Basic English or Greek for product labels and mixing ratios

Residence and work authorisation for Greece, arranged before arrival

Net salary from 1000 up to 1100 EUR per month

Permanent contract after a three month trial period

Overtime paid at the statutory rate when a handover date is close

Overalls, masks, gloves, safety shoes and brushes provided

A painter who takes on decorative finishes, marmorino and textured coatings, is paid a higher rate and goes to the hotel contracts. Crew leaders who measure and quote their own jobs are chosen from the painters already employed.

Occupied flats and offices in winter, facades and hotels in summer, so the season decides whether you work inside or out. A half mask for spray work, goggles, gloves and safety shoes are supplied and the filters are replaced by the employer.
