CNC Machine Operator

You load the bar or the billet, start the proven programme on a Fanuc or Siemens control and watch the first piece through the cycle. You measure the critical diameters with a caliper and a micrometer, adjust the tool offsets when a dimension drifts and record the result on the control chart. You change inserts when the finish deteriorates, clear chips and check the coolant level. Setting is done by the setter on a first run and by the operator on repeat batches. Shifts are 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 on a weekly rotation.

Technical school or a vocational qualification in mechanics

At least two years on CNC lathes or machining centres

Confident use of a caliper and a micrometer

Ability to read a mechanical drawing with its tolerances

Willingness to rotate between the morning and the afternoon shift

English at A2 for the control messages and the shift handover

Basic knowledge of tool wear and insert changes

Net salary from 1520 up to 1670 EUR per month

Permanent contract under the metalworking industry agreement

Shift supplement on the afternoon shift

Canteen on site with a subsidised hot meal

Thirteenth month payment as the agreement provides

Paid training on the Fanuc control for operators moving to setting

Work clothing, safety shoes and protective glasses supplied

Operators who show steady measurement discipline are trained as setters, who prepare the job, prove the programme and hand the machine over to the shift.

The shop is a lit machining hall kept at a stable temperature for measurement, with enclosed machines, chip conveyors and an extraction system on the oil mist. Safety shoes, glasses and handling gloves are mandatory.
