Sheet Metal Worker

You read the flat pattern, pick the sheet from the rack, and run the fibre laser and the CNC press brake through programmes the setter releases. The day covers setting the tooling, bending the first piece and measuring the angle with a protractor and a gauge on every bend, deburring edges, and tack welding assemblies in the jig before the welder closes them. You mark each batch with its order number and note the material used. Two shifts, 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00, rotate weekly and Saturday morning is voluntary.

Trade school in mechanics or metalwork, or an apprenticeship

At least two years on a press brake or a laser cutter

Reading a flat pattern and a welding symbol

Confident with a protractor, caliper and angle gauge

MIG tack welding is welcome, full welding is not required

Basic English for the press brake display and the safety signs

Net salary from 1470 up to 1615 EUR per month

Permanent contract under the metalworking collective agreement

Shift supplement and a result bonus from the plant agreement

13th month payment in December

Canteen meal at 2 EUR and coffee at cost

Paid weeks on the press brake with the setter

Gloves, apron, goggles, ear protection and safety shoes provided

The shop trains its own setters, so an operator who learns tooling and offline programming moves up inside two years. Welding certificates are paid when the work needs them.

A high hall with extraction over the laser, jib cranes at each bay and vacuum lifters for the sheet, so lifting by hand stays rare. Gloves, goggles, ear protection and safety shoes are mandatory.
