MIG/MAG Welder

You read the drawing, set the plates and tubes on the jig, tack them and run the fillet and butt welds with a synergic MIG/MAG source in mixed gas. Plate thickness runs from 3 to 12 mm. You grind the weld, check the throat with a fillet gauge and correct distortion before the frame goes to the paint shop. Weld defects are recorded on the job card, which the welder signs. Work is a single day shift 07:00-16:00 with a half hour break, and a second shift opens when the order book requires it. You report to the workshop foreman.

Vocational training in welding or three years of workshop practice

Confident MIG/MAG welding on carbon steel from 3 to 12 mm

Ability to read a fabrication drawing and a welding symbol

Use of a grinder, a fillet gauge and a steel rule

Willingness to move to a second shift when the order book requires it

English at A2 for safety instructions and the job card

A welding certificate to EN ISO 9606 is an advantage

Net salary from 1560 up to 1715 EUR per month

Permanent contract under the metalworking industry agreement

Thirteenth month payment as the agreement provides

Company help with the first accommodation and the residence registration

Welding mask, leathers, safety shoes and gloves supplied and replaced

A welder who passes the EN ISO 9606 examination moves onto certified pressure work, which carries a higher classification under the metalworking agreement.

The workshop has welding bays with a fume extraction arm at every station, curtain screens between bays and an overhead crane for the heavy frames. Mask, leather apron, safety shoes and gloves are mandatory.
