Furniture Carpenter

You work from a cutting list and a fitting plan: you take the cut panels off the beam saw, edge them, drill the system holes on the multi head machine and assemble the carcase with dowels, confirmats and cams. Every carcase is checked square with a diagonal measure before it is wrapped. You hang doors, fit hinges and drawer runners, set the gaps, and mark any panel with a chipped edge for recutting. Work runs 07:00-15:00 Monday to Friday, with a second shift added in the autumn peak.

Trade school in woodworking or carpentry, or equal practice

At least two years on furniture assembly or a joinery bench

Reading a cutting list and a fitting plan

Beam saw, edge bander and drilling machine used safely

Careful setting of hinges and drawer runners to the gap

Basic English for the hardware catalogues

Net salary from 536 up to 590 EUR per month

Carpenters who learn the beam saw optimisation and the CNC nesting machine move to machine operator, which carries the higher rate, and the workshop pays for the training.

A dry workshop with dust extraction at every machine, assembly benches at working height and a separate spraying room. Ear protection, glasses, gloves and safety shoes are mandatory and supplied.
