Industrial Cleaner

On the office round you empty the bins, wipe the desks and the meeting rooms, clean and restock the toilets, and mop the corridors and the stairs. In the plant you work to a zone plan: you clean the walkways and the changing rooms and degrease the floor around the machines with the scrubber dryer, and you never touch a machine that has not been locked off by its operator. Every zone is signed off on the round sheet and the supervisor checks a sample each week. The office round runs 06:00-10:00 and the plant shift 14:00-22:00.

Primary school completed, no qualification needed

Cleaners who learn the machine cleaning zones and the chemical plan move to team leader on a round of four to six people within about two years.

Heated office floors and a production hall with marked walkways, a locked chemical store and a changing room with showers at each site. Gloves, an apron and non slip shoes are mandatory and supplied by the employer.
