You weld plate and profile in MIG/MAG and with coated electrodes, working from the fabrication drawing and the weld procedure sheet. Joints are cleaned and prepared, the assembly tacked on the jig, root and fill passes run in the stated sequence, and the seam ground where it is inspected or painted. You check preheat where the sheet calls for it, stamp your work and hand the piece to the inspector for visual and dye penetrant checks. The yard runs 07:30-16:30 from Monday to Friday.

Trade school in welding or at least three years in fabrication

MIG/MAG on steel above 6 mm, coated electrode an advantage

Reads a fabrication drawing and a weld procedure sheet

Understands root, fill and cap sequence and distortion control

Comfortable working at height on a platform with a harness

Basic English for procedure sheets and machine labels

Net salary from 950 up to 1045 EUR per month

Permanent contract with Social Security from the first day

EN ISO 9606 qualification test paid and renewed by the employer

Company transport from Setubal and from the Barreiro area

Welders who pass the procedure test and work a year without repair join the site team that erects on the customer's plant, which is paid at the higher grade and carries a daily allowance.

Covered assembly bays with an overhead crane, fume extraction at each station and an open yard where large sections are erected. Mask, leather jacket, gloves, harness and safety boots are mandatory and are supplied by the employer.
