Press Brake Operator
Metal Industry · Braga, Portugal
JB-771 · Basic (A2) · 5 openings
A sheet metal shop in the Lamacaes area of Braga folds steel and aluminium parts for electrical enclosures and shop fittings. It is taking on press brake operators on a two shift pattern. Permanent contract and paid training on the machine.
About role
You take the blanks from the laser, read the bend sequence on the drawing, choose the punch and die for the thickness and the inner radius, and set the back gauge. The first part is folded and measured with a protractor and a caliper against the drawing, and only then is the batch released. During the run you watch for springback, correct the angle at the control and support long parts with the follower arm. Folded parts are stacked on the trolley with the route card. Two shifts rotate weekly.
