Forklift Operator

You move pallets and reels between the bays, the racking and the loading docks, working from the movement list on the terminal. Each move is confirmed by scan so the stock record stays correct. You load and unload trailers, check the pallet condition before it goes on the vehicle, and report damage before signing. The daily check on forks, mast, chains, horn and lights is done before the first move and written on the machine sheet. Two shifts run 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00.

Valid forklift licence for counterbalance trucks

At least a year of yard or warehouse driving

Able to place a load at height without touching the beam

Careful with load charts, since reels change the centre of gravity

Comfortable with a terminal and with scanning every move

Basic English for labels, screens and safety signs

Net salary from 880 up to 968 EUR per month

Permanent contract with Social Security from the first day

Shift supplement on the afternoon rotation

Meal allowance of 6,15 EUR for every worked day

Company transport from Setubal and from Palmela

Licence renewal and reach truck training paid by the employer

High visibility clothing, gloves and safety boots provided

Operators who work a year without damage move to the reach truck and to the high bay, which is paid at the higher grade, and from there to shift coordinator on the dock.

A covered warehouse with racking to nine metres and an open yard for reels, with marked traffic lanes and pedestrian barriers at every crossing. High visibility clothing, gloves and safety boots are mandatory and are supplied by the employer.
