Parcel Delivery Driver

The shift starts at the hub, where you scan your parcels onto the van and load them in the order of the round so the last drop sits at the back. On the street you deliver to the door, scan each parcel, take a signature or a photograph and collect returns for the depot. Failed deliveries are rescheduled on the terminal before you leave the address. A round is between 90 and 130 stops in the Lisbon parishes, and cash on delivery is counted and handed in at the hub at the end of the day.

Category B licence held for at least two years

Clean driving record and confidence in city traffic

Able to carry parcels up to 30 kg and to climb stairs all day

Careful with a handheld terminal and with cash on delivery

Willing to start at 07:00 and to work some Saturdays

Basic English for addresses, labels and the terminal

Net salary from 850 up to 935 EUR per month

Permanent contract with Social Security from the first day

Meal allowance of 6,15 EUR for every worked day

Monthly bonus tied to delivered volume and to the return rate

A fixed van kept by the same driver, fuelled and serviced by the company

Two weeks of paid training on the round with an experienced driver

Uniform, rain jacket and safety shoes provided

Drivers who hold a stable round for a year move to the hub as sorters and route planners, or take the category C licence for the trunk runs between Lisbon and Porto, which the company pays for.

A sorting hub with a belt and roller lanes, and then the street for most of the day, in traffic and in all weather. Reflective jacket, safety shoes and gloves are mandatory on the hub floor and are supplied by the employer.
