Wood CNC Operator

You load the board on the table, call up the nesting programme for the order, set the vacuum zones and the tool for the thickness in front of you, and start the cut. While the machine runs you break out the parts, label each one against the cutting list, sand the edges and stack them on the trolley for edge banding. Tools are changed when the finish drops, the collets cleaned and the extraction checked. Two shifts run 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 on a weekly rotation.

Trade school in wood or at least two years on a CNC router

Reads a cutting list and understands a nesting layout

Confident with tool change, collets and zero setting

Able to spot a poor edge finish and act before the batch is lost

Willing to rotate two shifts weekly

Basic English for control menus and tool catalogues

Net salary from 900 up to 990 EUR per month

Permanent contract with Social Security from the first day

Shift supplement on the afternoon rotation

Meal allowance of 6,15 EUR for every worked day

Company transport from Braga and from Barcelos

Paid training on the control, on nesting and on tooling

Work clothing, ear protection, dust mask and safety shoes provided

Operators who set the machine alone and correct a programme at the control move to programming and tool management for the whole shop. The plant pays for the software course that step requires.

A machining hall with dust extraction at every spindle, a vacuum table, roller conveyors and a separate area for edge banding. Ear protection, dust mask, glasses and safety shoes are mandatory and are supplied by the employer.
