A furniture workshop in the Palmeira area of Braga makes fitted kitchens and wardrobes for customers in Portugal and in France. It is taking on cabinet makers for the bench and the assembly area. Permanent contract and a single day shift.
About role
You work from the cutting list and the assembly drawing: panels squared, edges banded, holes drilled on the jig for hinges and shelf supports, and carcasses assembled with dowels and cams. Doors are hung and adjusted in three planes, drawers fitted and the piece checked for square before it is wrapped. Solid wood parts are planed, sanded through the grits and finished with lacquer in the spray booth. The workshop runs 08:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday.
Who's a fit?
Trade school in carpentry or at least three years at the bench
Reads a cutting list and an assembly drawing
Confident on a panel saw, an edge bander and a drilling jig
Hinge and drawer adjustment to a square, tight finish
Careful sanding and lacquer work without runs
Basic English for hardware catalogues and machine labels

Promotion terms
Cabinet makers who take a kitchen from the cutting list to the wrapping without correction move to the fitting team that installs on site, which is paid at the higher grade and includes a company van.
Work environment
A workshop with a panel saw, an edge bander and a spray booth, all under dust extraction, and a heated assembly area. Ear protection, dust mask, glasses and safety shoes are mandatory and are supplied by the employer.
