Textile Machine Operator

You run one operation on the garment: shoulder seams, side seams, sleeve setting, hemming or a collar, depending on the model in the line. The bundle comes with a work ticket, and you sew to the sample hanging at the station, keeping the stitch count and the seam allowance. You change the thread and the needle when the model changes, clear a thread break yourself and call the mechanic for a timing fault. Finished bundles are counted and passed on. The shift is 08:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday.

Basic schooling and the right to work in Portugal

Sewing experience is an advantage, and training is paid

Steady hands and good close vision for seam allowance

Net salary from 840 up to 924 EUR per month

Permanent contract with Social Security from the first day

Monthly production bonus on top of the base salary

Meal allowance of 6,15 EUR for every worked day

Company transport from Braga and from Vila Nova de Famalicao

Two months of paid training on the machine for new operators

Work clothing, scissors and seating adjusted to the station provided

Operators who master three operations become polyvalent and are paid the higher grade. From there the route is line leader, or the quality bench where garments are checked before pressing.

A sewing floor with natural light, adjustable chairs, thread extraction at the machine and a separate pressing and packing area. Work clothing and closed shoes are required, and the machines carry needle guards and pulley covers.
