Formwork Carpenter

You set out and assemble wall and slab formwork from the shuttering drawing, plumb and line it, fit ties and props, and check the level before the pour. During the pour you watch the panels for movement and close any gap. After the concrete has set you strike the formwork, clean and oil the panels and stack them for the next lift. Beams, columns and stair flights are built to the same drawing. The site runs 08:00-17:00, Monday to Friday, and you report to the structures foreman.

At least three years on formwork for cast in place concrete

Confident with panel systems, ties, props and beam tables

Handles a circular saw, a nail gun and a spirit level safely

Fit for heavy work, since panels are lifted all day

Basic English for drawings, labels and safety instructions

Net salary from 930 up to 1023 EUR per month

Twelve month contract with Social Security from the first day

Carpenters who set out a floor without correction move to leading a formwork gang, and from there to site foreman on the structure. The company pays for the lifting operations and scaffold inspection certificates.

An open structure with a tower crane, edge protection on every slab and a covered area for cutting and stacking panels. Helmet, harness, gloves and safety boots are mandatory at all times and are supplied by the employer.
