Furniture Carpenter

You take the cutting list and the fitting drawing for a job, cut panels on the beam saw, run the edges through the banding machine and drill the hinge and shelf holes on the boring machine. You dry assemble the carcass in the shop, mark the hardware positions and pack the parts by room for the fitting day. On site you level the units, hang the doors, adjust the hinges and scribe the worktop to the wall. The shop works 07:00-16:00 from Monday to Friday, with fitting days arranged with the customer.

Trade school in carpentry or joinery, or equal practice

At least two years in furniture, board or solid wood

Reading a cutting list and a fitting drawing

Confident on a beam saw, an edge bander and a boring machine

Accurate to the millimetre with a tape, a square and a level

Category B licence, the crew drives to the fitting address

Basic English for hardware catalogues and machine menus

Net salary from 855 up to 940 EUR per month

Permanent contract after a three month trial period

Meal tickets for every worked day

Paid travel time and fuel on fitting days

Day shift only, weekends free outside agreed fitting days

Paid training on the edge bander and the boring machine

Work clothing, ear protection, gloves and safety shoes provided

A carpenter who learns the design software takes the measuring visits and prices his own jobs, and the shop fills its fitting team leader post from the bench. The software course is paid.

A dust extracted workshop with a beam saw, an edge bander and assembly benches, and customer apartments on fitting days. Ear protection, gloves and safety shoes are mandatory and are supplied by the employer.
