MIG/MAG Welder

You weld carbon steel from 3 to 12 mm in MIG and MAG, working from a drawing and a welding plan on jigs set up by the foreman. The day starts with tacking parts in the fixture, then running fillet and butt welds in flat and horizontal positions. You grind spatter, check the weld for undercut and porosity by eye, and mark the piece with your stamp. Gas and wire settings are logged against each order. The shift is 06:00 to 14:00, with overtime agreed in advance.

Vocational school in metalworking or an equivalent welding course

At least two years of MIG/MAG welding on structural steel

Able to read a technical drawing and standard welding symbols

Confident with an angle grinder, a welding gauge and a square

A valid welder certificate is an advantage, the employer arranges retesting

Willing to cover an afternoon shift when the order book requires it

English at A2 for drawings, safety rules and shift handover

Net salary from 1450 up to 1610 EUR per month

Permanent contract after a three month trial period

Employer pays the welder certificate and the periodic retest

Meal allowance and reimbursement of travel to work

Help with registration, the residence permit and accommodation

Welding helmet, leathers, gloves and safety shoes provided and replaced

Overtime and Saturday work paid with the statutory supplement

Welders who pass the certificate for thicker sections take on the pressure and structural work, and the workshop appoints its foremen from the welders already on the floor.

A fabrication hall with separate welding bays, local fume extraction at every torch and a bridge crane over the assembly area. Helmet, leathers, gloves and safety shoes are worn for the whole shift, and the extraction is checked each morning.
