Metal Grinder
Metal Industry · Ravne na Koroskem, Slovenia
JB-645 · Basic (A2) · 5 openings
A forging and steel finishing plant in Ravne na Koroskem is looking for metal grinders for its finishing bay. The work is dressing forged parts for machine builders across Austria and Germany, on two shifts and a permanent contract.
About role
You dress forged and cast steel parts before machining: removing the flash and the gate with an angle grinder, taking the parting line down with a coarse disc and finishing the visible faces with a flap disc. You check the profile against a template and a radius gauge, keep the wall thickness inside the machining allowance, and mark the part with its heat number. Heavy pieces move on an overhead crane with chain slings, which you are trained and licensed for. Grinding wheels you change yourself after a visual check for cracks. Two shifts rotate weekly and you report to the finishing bay leader.
