Construction Labourer

You work with the concrete and masonry crews on everything the site needs done. A day covers unloading material and taking it up to the level on the hoist, mixing and carrying mortar, laying blocks under a bricklayer, stripping and cleaning shuttering panels, cutting reinforcement to the bar list, and keeping the level swept with the waste in the right skip. The site manager gives the crew the day's plan at 07:00 and checks the work before every pour. Hours are 07:00-16:00 from Monday to Friday, with paid overtime on pour days.

No trade qualification needed, the work is taught on site

Six months on a building site in any role

Able to lift and carry through a full working day

Careful around the hoist, the mixer and the cutting disc

Basic English for safety instructions and the daily plan

Willing to work overtime on concrete pour days

Available for the full twelve months of the contract

Net salary from 668 up to 735 EUR per month

Twelve month contract with the option to continue on the next site

Meal vouchers of 35 lei for each day worked

Bed in a company hostel ten minutes from the site

Paid overtime on pour days, counted per hour

Helmet, harness, gloves and boots supplied by the employer

Training towards the bricklayer or steel fixer grade after six months

Labourers who stay through one block move up to the steel fixing or shuttering crew, which pays a higher grade. The company runs the qualification course on the site itself with an authorised trainer.

An open site in the north of the city, with a tower crane, a passenger hoist and heated site cabins for breaks and for drying clothes. Helmet, harness, gloves and boots are provided and checked at the gate every morning.
