Warehouse Operative

You take pallets in at the dock, check the delivery note against what arrived and put the stock away in racking with a hand pallet truck. The main task is picking customer orders by voice headset: building a stable pallet, wrapping it and moving it to the dispatch lane. Every morning you count a short list of references, keep your aisle clear and report damaged goods to the team leader. Two shifts rotate weekly, 06:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00, with a night shift only in the weeks before Christmas and paid at a supplement.

Basic schooling, no previous warehouse experience needed

Able to lift boxes up to 15 kg through a full shift

Careful counting and simple reading of labels and codes

Willing to rotate two shifts every week

Basic Portuguese or English for the picking system and safety signs

Punctual, since picking starts as a group at the shift bell

Interest in taking the forklift licence, which the employer pays

Net salary from 841 up to 925 EUR per month

Permanent contract after a 90 day trial period

Meal allowance of 6,00 EUR for each day worked

Holiday and Christmas subsidies, so the wage is paid 14 times a year

Company bus from Azambuja, Carregado and Vila Franca de Xira

Forklift licence paid by the employer after six months

Work clothing, safety boots and gloves supplied

Operatives who take the forklift licence move on to the reach truck, which carries a supplement, and the team leader posts in this warehouse are filled from the picking teams.

A dry ambient warehouse at about 18 degrees, with marked pedestrian lanes, racking up to nine metres and a separate battery charging bay. Safety boots, a high visibility vest and gloves are supplied by the employer.
