A metal fabrication shop in the Ramalde industrial zone in Porto is adding MIG/MAG welders to its two shift rota. The work is steel frames, tanks and support structures for Portuguese and Spanish customers, on a permanent contract from the first day.
About role
You weld steel frames, brackets and tanks in MIG/MAG, mostly 3 to 10 mm plate and box section, always from a drawing and a welding sheet. The day starts with checking the wire, the gas mixture and the torch, then tacking the parts in a jig, running the seams and grinding the ones that stay visible. Before a piece leaves the bench you measure it with a tape and a square, mark what you welded and report any deviation to the shift leader. Shifts run 06:00 to 14:30 and 14:30 to 23:00 with a weekly rotation, and Saturday work is voluntary and paid at a supplement.
