A concrete frame contractor is putting on formwork masons for a housing block in the Euromediterranee district of Marseille. Wall panels and slab tables on a five storey frame, a renewable temporary contract and an untaxed meal allowance for every site day.
About role
You set, plumb and strip wall panels and slab tables on a reinforced concrete frame. The day covers reading the shuttering plan, landing the panels with the tower crane, fitting props, ties and stop ends, checking level and plumb, pouring and vibrating the concrete with the poker, then striking the next morning. You place the spacers and the reinforcement cage inside the wall before it closes, and you keep the panel faces clean and oiled. Site hours are 07:30-12:00 and 13:00-17:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:30-12:00 on Friday, and you report to the site foreman.

CAP or Bac Pro in construction, or two years already spent on formwork
Two years with wall panels, props and slab tables

Site safety training for work at height, or take it in the first week
Basic English for site signage and toolbox talks

Promotion terms
Formwork masons who read the plan on their own take the chef d'equipe route after two years on site, and the contractor pays for the crane signalling and slinging modules.
Work environment
An open site in the port redevelopment area, worked from a slab edge protected by guardrails, with a site cabin for breaks and a drying room for wet clothing. Helmet, harness, gloves and boots are mandatory.
