Warehouse Order Picker

You pick chilled food orders in a hall held between 2 and 4 degrees, guided by a voice headset and at the controls of a low level order picker. Every line is scanned, the pallet is built heavy at the bottom, wrapped on the stretch wrapper and staged in the loading lane with its delivery note. You check the batch number and the use by date on each line and put anything damaged aside for the quality office. At the end of the shift you count two aisles and report the gaps to the team leader. Shifts are 05:00-12:30 and 12:30-20:00 with a weekly rotation.

Compulsory schooling completed, no diploma needed

Six months in a warehouse, a chilled store or a production plant

CACES 1B for the order picker, or take it in your first month at the employer's cost

Careful with batch numbers, quantities and use by dates

Able to work between 2 and 4 degrees, with the breaks the law sets

Available for the early and the afternoon shift, weekly rotation

Basic English for labels and safety signs

Net salary from 1482 up to 1630 EUR per month

Permanent contract after a one month trial period

Cold room supplement for every hour worked in the chilled hall

Meal allowance of 6 EUR for each shift worked

Public transport subscription reimbursed at the legal 50 percent, free parking on site

Paid induction week beside an experienced picker

Insulated jacket, gloves and safety shoes provided

Pickers who add the CACES 3 and then the 5 move on to reach truck driver, and the dispatch hall picks its team leaders off the shift floor. The licence course runs on paid working time.

A clean chilled hall between 2 and 4 degrees, with marked pedestrian lanes, mirrors at every aisle end and a heated break room next to the dock. Insulated jacket, gloves and safety shoes are supplied.
