Restaurant Waiter

You take orders on a handheld, carry three plates, open wine at the table and run the terrace section on your own during the quiet hours. The shift covers setting the tables, checking the mise en place with the kitchen before service, serving the two lunch sittings and closing the till drawer with the head waiter. Split shifts run 12:00-16:00 and 20:00-24:00, with two consecutive days off each week and a rota published every Thursday. Staff eat together before each service.

One season of floor experience in a restaurant or a hotel dining room

Carrying three plates and using a handheld order terminal

Basic wine service, opening and pouring at the table

Functional English for visitors and Spanish for the kitchen pass

Food handling certificate, or willingness to take it in the first week

The house promotes from the floor: a waiter who runs a section well takes the terrace as section head next season, and the owner pays the wine courses at the hospitality school.

A dining room of seventy covers plus a street terrace, with air conditioning inside and shade sails outside. Non slip shoes are required and provided, and the house repeats the fire and first aid drill before the season starts.
