Site Bricklayer

You lay brick and block partitions, render and level the walls, and repair balcony fronts and cornices on the facade from a suspended platform. The day starts with the site briefing at 07:30, then mixing, setting the line and building to the marked course, checking every metre with a spirit level and a plumb line. You keep the pallet zone tidy, cut with a wet saw, and sign the daily sheet with the metres finished. Hours are 07:30-15:30 Monday to Friday and the site foreman assigns the section.

A bricklayer who sets out the work and reads the drawing moves up to first grade tradesman on the next site, and the contractor pays the certified course for work at height.

Two occupied buildings under rehabilitation, with a screened platform on the street side and a fenced storage yard. Helmet, harness, gloves and boots are mandatory, and the safety coordinator inspects the platform every week.
