MIG/MAG Welder

You weld structural steel and sheet from 3 to 20 mm in MIG/MAG on jigs, in flat and vertical positions, following the welding sequence on the drawing. The day starts with tacking the assembly, checking the wire, gas flow and torch, then welding out and grinding the visible seams. You measure your own work against the fillet gauge, mark the piece with your stamp and pass anything doubtful to the welding foreman. Two shifts run 06:00-14:30 and 14:30-23:00, and there is a paid week of jig training before you weld production parts.

Trade training in metal work or a welding course with practice

At least two years of MIG/MAG on structural steel

Valid 135 or 138 certificate, or willingness to sit the test here

Reading welding symbols and simple assembly drawings

Steady hand for visible seams and honest self checking

Willing to rotate two shifts weekly

Basic English or German on the shop floor

Net salary from 2183 up to 2400 EUR per month

Permanent contract, agency period of three months first

Paid welding certificate renewal every two years

Welders who pass the 138 test in position move to the pressure vessel bay, where the rate is higher. The employer pays the welding inspector course for anyone who wants the foreman track.

Welding bays with torch extraction and side screens, a crane for every heavy assembly and a heated hall in winter. Helmet, jacket, gloves, ear protection and safety shoes come from the employer.
