Welder (MIG/TIG)

You weld carbon steel and stainless steel parts using MIG/MAG and TIG, reading the drawing and prepping the joint before you strike an arc. You work from isometrics and weld maps, grind and clean each pass, and present your work for visual and dye penetrant checks. Most jobs are structural frames, tanks, and piping built in the workshop, with occasional fit-up on site at the port. You run a Fronius or Kemppi machine and are expected to hold tolerances and weld quality to the procedure sheet. A workshop lead assigns jobs and the QA inspector signs off before parts ship.

Valid welder qualification to UNE-EN ISO 9606-1 (steel and/or stainless)

Solid command of MIG/MAG and TIG on plate and pipe

Able to read fabrication drawings, isometrics, and weld symbols

3+ years in a fabrication workshop or shipyard

Comfortable grinding, fitting up, and prepping your own joints

Careful about safety, PPE, and fume extraction

Basic Spanish for the workshop

Net salary 1930-2320 EUR (10% above market average)

A welder who holds quality and takes on harder procedures can move to lead welder or QA-focused work, with the company funding the extra homologations.

You work in a well-ventilated fabrication bay alongside fitters and other welders, with extraction at each station. The pace is steady and driven by client deadlines, not constant rush.
