A structural steel workshop on the Nervion estuary near Bilbao is taking on welders for its second shift. The shop cuts, fits and welds frames and platforms for Basque machine builders, and it hires on a permanent contract from the first day.
About role
You weld carbon steel sections from 3 to 12 mm in MIG/MAG and read the fitting drawing before you strike an arc. The day covers tacking the assembly on the jig, running the fillet and butt welds, grinding the run out and checking the throat with a weld gauge. You mark every finished frame with your stamp, report the wire and gas used, and hand any part that fails visual inspection to the shift welding lead. Shifts run 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 with a weekly rotation, and Friday afternoons finish at 13:00.
