CNC Machine Operator
Production & Manufacturing — Vigo, Spain
P-332 · Functional (B1) · 3 openings
A production and manufacturing company near Vigo is taking on CNC operators for its machining hall. If you can read a drawing and keep a part inside tolerance, the employer wants to talk to you.
About role
You set up and run CNC milling and turning centres, mostly 3-axis machines plus a couple of lathes. The day starts with loading the program, clamping the blank, setting tool offsets and zeroing the part before the first cut. Once a job is running you watch the cycle, swap worn inserts, deburr finished pieces and check critical dimensions with calipers and a micrometer. The work is mostly aluminium and steel parts for the automotive supply chain, so batch sizes are real and the quality sheets get filled in for every run. You report scrap honestly and flag anything that drifts off spec to the shift lead.
Who's a fit?
At least 2 years running CNC mills or lathes in a production shop
Can read mechanical drawings and GD&T symbols
Comfortable with tool offsets, work offsets and basic G-code edits
Measuring with calipers, micrometers and gauges as second nature
Willing to work rotating shifts, including nights
Functional English (B1) to follow safety and quality instructions
Benefits
Help with relocation to Vigo and paperwork for the first months
Shared accommodation arranged for your arrival, deducted at a fair rate
Subsidised canteen on site
Private health insurance after the trial period
Work boots and PPE provided
Promotion terms
You start as a skilled operator and, once you can set up jobs on your own and hold quality across a full shift, you move up to setter. Pay grows with that step, from 1610 net at the start towards 1850 net as you take on setup and first-off inspection. Operators who train newcomers and run the line unsupervised are the ones who get there fastest.
Work environment
The hall is a steady machining floor with rows of CNC centres, decent lighting and extraction at the cutting zones. Expect coolant mist, the noise of running spindles and standing for most of the shift, so ear protection and good footwear matter. Shifts rotate on a morning, afternoon, night pattern across a five-day week.
