Construction Laborer

Most days start at 7 and you finish around 4, with a longer push when concrete is being poured. You carry rebar and formwork panels, mix mortar, feed the hoist, and break down scaffolding once a floor is closed. A lot of the job is keeping the site clean and the materials moving so the bricklayers and the crane operator never wait on you. You will run a jackhammer and an angle grinder, and on poured days you help vibrate and level the slab. The foreman tells you what goes where each morning, so you do not need to read drawings.

Start at 990 EUR net a month. Show the foreman you can be trusted on the harder jobs and you move up to 1150 EUR net. Steady workers who learn the formwork side first usually get there inside a year.

This is an open-air site in and around Sofia, so you work through cold mornings in winter and heat in summer. It is loud, dusty, and physical, but the crew is small and people look out for each other. Helmet, boots, and gloves are provided, and nobody starts a task without them.
