Furniture Factory Operator
Wood & Furniture Production — Sibiu, Romania
P-258 · Functional (B1) · 4 openings
A wood and furniture production company near Sibiu needs an operator who already knows their way around a workshop. Steady factory work, real overtime when you want it, and a clear way to move up.
About role
You run wood-processing machines on the production line, mostly panel saws, edge banders and CNC routers, and you keep them fed and running clean. The work moves between cutting MDF and chipboard panels to size, sanding edges, drilling for hardware and assembling cabinet carcasses and frames. You read the cut list and basic drawings, set up the machine, check the first piece against the tolerance, then keep the batch going. Some days you are at a fixed station, other days you fill in where the line is short. Two shifts rotate weekly, 06:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00, Monday to Friday, with Saturday overtime offered, not forced. You log scrap and flag any blade or feed problem before it ruins a run.
Who's a fit?
At least 1 year on woodworking or panel machines in a real factory
Can read a cut list and a simple technical drawing
Comfortable with measuring tools, calipers and a tape
Knows basic machine setup and blade or bit changes
Functional English (B1) for shift handover and instructions
Fit for standing work and lifting panels through the shift
Benefits
Relocation help and pickup from the airport or station
Shared accommodation close to the plant, employer covers most of the rent
Free shuttle between the housing and the factory on every shift
Subsidised hot meal in the canteen during the shift
Private health insurance after the trial period
Promotion terms
You start at 710 EUR net. Once you handle setups on your own and hold quality through a full batch, usually within six to nine months, pay moves up toward 820 EUR net. Operators who train newcomers and run the CNC unsupervised are first in line for line-lead roles.
Work environment
The plant is a covered production hall with dust extraction on the machines, so the air stays workable, though it gets loud near the saws and warm in summer. You wear ear protection, safety shoes and gloves, all provided. The pace is steady and you are on your feet most of the shift.
